Blenders
The Smeg blender: you buy it for the shape, so here's how the Smeg blender blends
The Smeg blender is a 1950s shape in a polished color, with a six-cup jar, four speeds and three presets. And owners say the Smeg blender blends well enough for smoothies, though it's a design piece first.

The Smeg blender is a blender you choose for the shape and the color, and that's a good reason to choose a blender. But the honest picture of the Smeg blender starts with its cons, so here they are first. And the first con is the motor, because the Smeg blender runs on 600 watts, half the power of the KitchenAid K400. Then the jar is plastic, not glass, Smeg's warranty is one year, and two owners write that their Smeg blender leaked. So if you'd like a blender for smoothies that looks beautiful on the counter, the Smeg blender does that job, and the rest of this page shows how.
You make smoothies or shakes a few times a week, and you'd like the blender to match a Smeg kettle or toaster.
You crush ice or blend frozen fruit in a blender every day. The KitchenAid K400 runs at 1,200 watts to the Smeg blender's 600 watts.
One full year from Smeg USA, on parts and labor.
Amazon or Abt Electronics, depending on the color.

What the Smeg blender does
The Smeg blender comes as two models we link, the BLF01 on Amazon and the newer BLF03 at Abt Electronics. So the figures on this page are Smeg's own figures for the BLF03.
The Smeg BLF03 blends in a 1.5-liter jar, about six cups, on a 600-watt motor. And it has four speeds, a pulse button with three levels, and three presets, for a smoothie, a green smoothie and crushed ice. Then a fourth program cleans the jar, so you can rinse it between one blend and the next.
The Smeg blender's body is die-cast aluminum with a polished finish, on a chrome-colored base. And the jar is Tritan Renew, a clear plastic that Smeg says is half recycled material. And the lid has a small measuring cup in the middle, so you can add ingredients while the blender runs.
The Smeg blender is 7.75 inches wide, 15.6 inches tall and 6.4 inches deep, and it weighs 9 pounds. So the Smeg blender is narrow on the counter, but measure under your cabinets if it's going to sit there.
What the Smeg blender doesn't do
The Smeg blender isn't built for heavy blending. Because the BLF03's motor is 600 watts, half the KitchenAid K400's power, the Smeg blender suits smoothies and shakes better than daily ice and frozen fruit. And one owner who gave the Smeg blender as a gift says it's more of a design item than a blender that outperforms the rest.
The Smeg blender's jar is plastic, and one owner wishes it were glass. And Smeg's blade isn't removable, so you clean it inside the jar.
The Smeg blender's warranty is one year, the same as Smeg's kettle and toaster. So if a Smeg blender fails in its second year, the repair is yours to pay for.
What owners say about the Smeg blender
On Amazon, the Smeg BLF01 scores 4.0 out of 5 from 382 ratings, across the colors we link (September 2026). And owners who are happy write about the looks and say the Smeg blender does its main job.
"Got it for a friend as a gift and they liked it! Can’t go wrong with Smeg’s retro design. Gotta admit it’s more of a design item than being functionality superior."
Amazon customer, verified purchase, February 2024, in cream
"Works perfectly for its main use."

But not every owner of the Smeg blender is happy, and the complaints are about leaks and the plastic jar.
"This is beautiful but it never worked. It leaked all over my counter the first time I used it."
Amazon customer, verified purchase, January 2026, in blue
"I loved the color pink it’s a very pretty blender I just wish it was glass and not plastic other than that it’s nice ! Not worth the price but I will keep it !"
Amazon customer, verified purchase, June 2024, in pink
The Smeg blender owner with the leak wrote to ask for a refund or a replacement. And another owner, in pastel green, wrote that the Smeg blender loses liquid when it runs.
The Smeg blender's colors, and where to buy each color
Cream is sold on Amazon, where the Smeg blender is the BLF01. But black is sold by Abt Electronics, a family-owned appliance store in Glenview, Illinois, where the Smeg blender is the BLF03, and the black BLF03 was $350 at Abt in late September 2026. So the seller and the model can change with the color you choose.
Pastel green is also at Abt, as the BLF03, but Abt listed it as a pre-order in late September 2026. And pink, red and pastel blue were down to one or two left on Amazon in September 2026, so check that your color is in stock before you plan a kitchen around it.
Abt takes most items back within 30 days in their original packaging, and it may charge the return shipping. And Amazon's returns follow the seller on each listing. But whichever seller you choose, the warranty is Smeg USA's.
Who makes the Smeg blender
Smeg is an Italian appliance maker based in Guastalla, near Reggio Emilia, and Vittorio Bertazzoni founded it in 1948. And Smeg began making small appliances in 2014, so the blender, the kettle and the toaster are the newer side of the company. And there's no recall on record for the Smeg BLF01 or BLF03 blender at the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (checked September 2026).
What goes with the Smeg blender
The Smeg blender shares its color names with the Smeg kettle and the Smeg two-slice toaster, so all three appliances can sit together in one color. So cream is a color all three come in, and the Smeg kettle article and the Smeg toaster article cover the other two appliances.

The Smeg blender isn't the only blender in color, though. The blender guide shows the other blenders we link, color by color.
Before you buy the Smeg blender
- Power: if you crush ice every day, look at the KitchenAid K400 instead of the Smeg blender.
- Model: the Smeg blender is the BLF01 on Amazon and the newer BLF03 at Abt, so check which one you're buying.
- Leaks: run the Smeg blender with water the day it arrives, because two owners write about leaks, and one Smeg blender leaked the first time it ran.
- Warranty: keep your receipt, because Smeg USA's warranty on the blender lasts one year.
