Café is a brand of GE Appliances, which is owned by Haier and based in Louisville, Kentucky. It was a GE product line from 2007 and became a brand of its own in 2018, with its own store and its own warranty. The warranty is one year on the whole appliance, parts and labor. Damage to the finish is covered only if you report it to Café within 48 hours of delivery. On Café's site it scores 3.7 out of 5 across 98 owner reviews, and 21 of those (21%) are one star. That is one in five. The one-star review we read describes a propane conversion missed at installation, which left soot on the cookware, and a slow response. Have a qualified gas installer confirm the fuel setup before first use. At 576 lb it needs a planned delivery, a gas line and a 240-volt circuit. You buy from Abt Electronics, a family-owned appliance and electronics store in Glenview, Illinois, open since 1936. Abt handles delivery and returns; the warranty is Café's. Abt takes most items back within 30 days in their original packaging, and may charge the return shipping.

Café's range pages never say where the ranges are built. GE Appliances, Café's owner and a Haier company, says its LaFayette, Georgia plant builds Café ranges, yet the 2021 recall of Café's 30 inch slide-in ranges says they were made in Mexico, and Canada's record of that recall names Mabe as the maker, and in 2025 GE said gas range production would move from Mexico to Georgia.
One year parts and labor on the whole range, and the warranty passes to the next owner. Finish flaws must be reported within 48 hours of delivery, commercial use is excluded, and where no Café servicer covers you, you may pay a trip charge.
Repairs go through Bodewell, GE Appliances' own factory service, booked online or by phone, but a repair visit carries only a 30-day labor warranty. Abt reviewers of this range describe new ovens that stopped heating, and one wrote: 'I have been without a stove for weeks.'
One recall touches this range: in December 2021 GE Appliances recalled about 132,000 ranges, including Café's 30 inch slide-ins, that could tip over if the anti-tip bracket was not fixed to the wall or floor. The recall covered ranges sold from May to July 2021, no injuries were reported, and the 36 and 48 inch commercial-style ranges were never recalled.
4.4 stars from 1,511 reviews on Café's own site for this range, pooled across finishes, and 4.5 stars from 1,425 reviews at Abt, almost all copied from Café's site. Behind the brand, GE Appliances has 3,537 BBB complaints in three years and a BBB review score of 1.07 out of 5 stars.
Matte white or matte black only, $250 over stainless on Café's own site. The knobs and handles can be swapped later to any of six metal finishes with a $649 kit, but the range body color is permanent and Café's samples go to designers only.
