Who makes it, and what to know
Café is a brand of GE Appliances, which is owned by Haier and based in Louisville, Kentucky. It was a GE product line from 2007 and became a brand of its own in 2018, with its own store and its own warranty. The warranty is one year on the whole appliance, parts and labor. On Café's site it scores 4.4 out of 5 across 4,192 owner reviews, and 241 of those (6%) are one star. It has the most reviews of any Café product we list. The one-star reviews we read describe noise, ice that scatters from the dispenser and an AutoFill that works only some of the time. It is a full-depth refrigerator, not counter depth, so it stands forward of the counters. You buy from Abt Electronics, a family-owned appliance and electronics store in Glenview, Illinois, open since 1936. Abt handles delivery and returns; the warranty is Café's. Abt takes most items back within 30 days in their original packaging, and may charge the return shipping.
