Refrigerators
A counter-depth fridge in KitchenAid's Juniper color, and two bigger Juniper fridges beside it
KitchenAid makes three refrigerators in Juniper, a dark green: the counter-depth KRFC236, which lines up with the cabinets, and two standard-depth fridges with water and ice in the door. And all three Juniper fridges are sold by Abt Electronics.

KitchenAid's Juniper is a deep, dark green, and KitchenAid puts it on a range, a hood, a dishwasher and three refrigerators. So a kitchen can move off stainless steel and still have every large appliance from one maker in one finish. And the fridge is the biggest piece of that green in the room.
The KitchenAid KRFC236 is the Juniper fridge that lines up with your cabinets. Because it's counter depth, its case is 25 inches deep, and KitchenAid says the case stays flush with standard cabinets while the doors open to 135 degrees. But the other two Juniper fridges are standard depth, so they hold more and stand further forward.
You want a dark green fridge to match a KitchenAid Juniper range or dishwasher, and you'd like the fridge to line up with your cabinets.
You want water and ice in the door of a counter-depth fridge, or a long full warranty. The counter-depth KRFC236 dispenses water inside the fridge, and KitchenAid's full warranty is one year.
One year, limited, on parts and labor from KitchenAid, then five years on the sealed cooling system, with ten years on its parts for the four-door KRMF436.
Abt Electronics, in Juniper and Black Ore.

What the KitchenAid Juniper fridges do
KitchenAid makes the three Juniper fridges in the same width, about 36 inches, and the same height, about 70 inches. So the choice between them comes down to depth, size and where the water comes out.
| Juniper fridge | Depth with the handles | What it holds | At Abt in late September 2026 |
|---|---|---|---|
| KRFC236, counter depth | 32.2 inches | 24 cubic feet, with water inside the fridge | $2,798 |
| KRFF436, French door | 37.4 inches | 30.5 cubic feet, with water and ice in the door | $2,598 |
| KRMF436, four doors | 37.4 inches | 28.7 cubic feet, with water and ice in the door | $2,898 |
The KitchenAid KRFC236 has a full-width FreshChill drawer, with presets for wine, deli, drinks and meat. And its ice maker sits in the freezer, while the water comes from a dispenser inside the fridge.
The KitchenAid KRFF436 is the biggest Juniper fridge, with 21.5 cubic feet of fridge and the rest freezer. Then it adds water and ice in the door, and a wood-look tray that slides out.
The KitchenAid KRMF436 has four doors, because a full-width FreshChill drawer sits between the fridge and the freezer. So that drawer can run as wine, deli, drink or meat storage, with 19.7 cubic feet of fridge above it and 9 cubic feet of freezer below. And KitchenAid calls it 29 cubic feet, though its specification lists 28.7 cubic feet.
Every KitchenAid Juniper fridge has handles in the same finish as the doors. And KitchenAid sells handle kits in brass, bronze, black ore or stainless separately, so the handles can change later.
What the KitchenAid Juniper fridges don't do
The counter-depth KitchenAid KRFC236 doesn't put water or ice in the door. That's the trade for a fridge that lines up with the cabinets, so you fill a glass inside the fridge and take ice from the freezer.
The standard-depth KitchenAid fridges don't line up with your counters. Because the KRFF436 and the KRMF436 are 37.4 inches deep with the handles, they stand proud of the cabinets on each side.
The KitchenAid warranty covers the whole fridge for one year only. After that, only the sealed cooling system is covered, for five years, or ten years on its parts for the KRMF436.
The KitchenAid KRMF436 Juniper fridge isn't a quick delivery, either. Because Abt listed it as a pre-order in late September 2026, along with both standard-depth fridges in Black Ore, ask Abt for a delivery date first.
The KitchenAid fridges also have small faults that owners name. Several owners say the left door of the KRFF436, which holds the ice maker, swings closed on its own, and critical reviews of the KRFC236 describe door shelves that tilt forward and ice that comes out broken. And one owner of the KRMF436 notes that the inside is gray rather than white.
What owners say about the KitchenAid Juniper fridges
At Abt, the KRFC236 scores 3.9 out of 5 from 209 owner reviews, the KRFF436 scores 4.1 from 75 reviews and the KRMF436 scores 4.0 from 16 reviews, each pooled across every finish, including stainless (September 2026). But Abt marks seven of the eight most recent reviews on each fridge as collected in a promotion, which means the reviewer received something for writing the review.
The owners who praise the KitchenAid fridges mention the Juniper finish and the pull-out drawer. But the reviews that weren't part of a promotion include two serious complaints.
"It began having cooling issues within the first 90 days of it being in my home, then the water dispenser pipe cracked and leaked water from underneath the unit, then my ice maker stopped working, and now the cooling isn’t working again."
A KitchenAid owner, review at Abt, August 2026, on the counter-depth KRFC236
"In both cases the refrigerator ran fine for the first month and a half. Then, somewhere between six and eight weeks in, the defrost/condensation drain froze over."
A KitchenAid owner, review at Abt, June 2026, on the four-door KRMF436 in stainless
The second owner's two fridges both failed the same way, and the store took both back. But even that owner was fair about the fridge itself.
"To be fair, when it is working the refrigerator itself is nice. Good capacity, the FreshChill drawer is genuinely useful, the layout and finish are excellent, and it is quiet."
The same owner, June 2026
How KitchenAid's fridges rate on our Scorecard
KitchenAid's lowest fridge score on our Scorecard is for owners. One KitchenAid owner was without refrigeration for three weeks after the fridge's control board broke, and KitchenAid's Trustpilot score across all its products is 1.3 out of 5. But KitchenAid's best score is for safety, because no recall has been found on any KitchenAid fridge.
The KitchenAid Juniper fridges' colors, and where to buy each color
The KitchenAid fridges come in Juniper and Black Ore, and both finishes cost the same at Abt Electronics, a family-owned appliance store in Glenview, Illinois, open since 1936.

Abt handles the delivery and the returns, with most items taken back within 30 days in their original packaging, though Abt may charge the return shipping. But the warranty is KitchenAid's.
Who makes the KitchenAid Juniper fridges
KitchenAid is a Whirlpool Corporation brand. And KitchenAid says most of its appliances are made in the US, but it doesn't say where these fridges are built.
There's no recall on record for the KRFC236, the KRFF436 or the KRMF436 at the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, and no KitchenAid or Whirlpool recall names these models (checked September 2026).
The Juniper range and dishwasher that match the KitchenAid fridge
KitchenAid makes its slide-in range, its wall hood and its dishwasher in Juniper too. So the KitchenAid Juniper dishwasher article covers the dishwasher and prices the range, the hood and the dishwasher as a set.

The matching kitchen set guide sets the Juniper set beside the ZLINE and Café sets.
Before you buy a KitchenAid Juniper fridge
- Depth: measure how far the fridge will stand out, because the counter-depth KRFC236 is 32.2 inches deep with the handles and the other two Juniper fridges are 37.4 inches.
- Water: plan a water line behind the fridge, because all three Juniper fridges make ice.
- Dispenser: choose the KRFF436 or the KRMF436 fridge if you want water and ice in the door.
- Timing: check the delivery date at Abt, because the four-door KRMF436 in Juniper was on pre-order in late September 2026.
