Plates and bowls are the easy part of a dishwasher load. But the awkward things, like water bottles, cup lids and the blade from the blender, are the ones that often end up washed by hand. So Café built its CustomFit dishwasher around those awkward things, with jets that reach inside bottles and a caddy that holds lids and blades where the water can reach them.
The Café dishwasher also matches the rest of a Café kitchen. It comes in the same matte white and matte black as Café's ranges and hood, and its handle can be changed to match the trim on the range.

What the Café dishwasher does
The Café dishwasher has four bottle jets in the top rack. And Café says each jet sends water and detergent up inside tall items, like bottles, jars and narrow glasses, to wash the hard-to-reach places inside.
The Café dishwasher's lid caddy holds cup lids and blender blades at an angle. Then the water can't pool in them, so Café says they come out clean and dry. And the silverware basket has its own wash jets underneath it, and Café says it holds stemware and reusable straws as well as cutlery.
The Café dishwasher holds 16 place settings in a stainless steel tub, across three racks. And the top rack can be rearranged, and the middle rack moves up and down to fit items as tall as 10.5 inches.
The Café dishwasher has six cycles and heated drying, which Café calls Dual Convection Ultra Dry. And its sanitize option is certified to NSF standard 184, which Café says removes 99.999% of bacteria on dishes. Then Café rates the dishwasher at 44 decibels, which is quiet.
The Café dishwasher also connects to Wi-Fi, so you can start and check a cycle from Café's SmartHQ app. And its controls sit on the top edge of the door, so the front is only the matte finish and the handle.
What the Café dishwasher doesn't do
The Café dishwasher's warranty is one year on parts and labor. That's the same as most dishwashers we list, but it's short for a dishwasher at this price.
The Café dishwasher's color is fixed. Because the matte finish is painted on the door itself, you can't change the color later, but you can change the handle.
The Café dishwasher needs hot water to clean well. Because Café says the water coming in has to be at least 120 degrees, check your water heater setting before you judge how the dishwasher cleans.
The Café dishwasher's matte finish may not be an exact match for every Café piece. That's because owners report slight differences in shade across a set of Café appliances, so look at the pieces side by side in daylight when they arrive.

And of those 364 Café dishwasher reviews, 212 reviews give five stars, but 48 reviews give one star, which is 13% of the reviews. And Café marks some reviews as incentivized, meaning the reviewer received something for writing the review.

So Café's reply to the dirty and wet dishes is the water temperature, as the section above explains. But a leak at barely a year old is a different kind of complaint, and a door that wobbles is among the complaints on our Scorecard too.

But Café's lowest scores are for its one-year warranty and for color, because its colors are matte white and matte black only.
The Café dishwasher's colors, and where to buy each color
The Café dishwasher comes in matte white and matte black, and both finishes are sold by Abt Electronics, a family-owned appliance store in Glenview, Illinois, open since 1936. So the Café dishwasher was $1,144 at Abt in late September 2026, in either finish, and both were in stock.
Abt handles the delivery and the returns. And most items go back to Abt within 30 days in their original packaging, and Abt may charge the return shipping. But the warranty is Café's, whichever finish you choose.
Who makes the Café dishwasher
Café is a brand of GE Appliances, which is owned by Haier and based in Louisville, Kentucky. And Café was a GE product line from 2007 before it became a brand of its own in 2018, with its own store and its own warranty. And GE Appliances builds dishwashers in Louisville, though Café doesn't say this model is built there.
There's no recall on record for the Café dishwasher at the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (checked September 2026).
